Well Hell's Pizza have been found in breach of the Advertising Standards when Members of the Advertising Standards authority unanimously agreed the promotion breached basic principle 4 of the code, which requires advertisements to be prepared with a sense of social responsibility.
Family First and Family Life are claiming it as a victory, that will see companies cautious of putting out smutty campaigns.

What can be more socially responsible than encouraging people to use condoms.
The Advertising Standards authority should be scrapped. If people don't like an advertising campaign, then don't buy the product.
Rich I totally agree.
Cinderella, the advertising company argued that they were promoting safe sex, which in turn helps keep sti's and unwanted preganancies down.
I do not see the problem.
So its not socially repsonsible to promote safe sex?
wtf
Or maybe sex and pizza is a no no?
I can't believe any of you actually believe Hell did this to promote safe sex, rather than to drum up publicity in a cynical, calculated way. It clearly is socially responsible to do the former, that's why there are sex ed classes in schools, family planning centres that hand out free condoms and Ministry of Health advertising campaigns.
And if the two happily coincide, where's the problem? Any company that tries to drum up publicity in a random, rather than calculated, way is destined to fail, isn't it?
I find having religion forced down my throat offensive. Shall I complain to the ASA about the Santa parade, etc.
Hell was let down by its agency's submission to the ASA, which was both flippant and fatuous. I think the ASA needs to have a word with the NZ Aids Foundation if it thinks that condoms are offensive.
I'm off to go have sex with a pizza without a condom now... asapparently thats much more socially responsible..
Grrr this makes me angry.
Hell got their point across though. Free publicity and the fact that some people believe Hell Pizza have a social conscience about safe sex when they were just trying to offend :)
Money can't buy this kinda publicity!
